One of the main run-time artifact of BizTalk applications is the Receive Ports. A receive port is the logical grouping of receive locations. Receive port is the entry point for messages into the BizTalk server architecture. The receive ports can function either as a one-way port (only receive incoming messages) or a request-response port (receives incoming messages and sends messages).

The support users need to ensure the receive ports and other main run-time artifacts are in a healthy state for the smooth functioning of the BizTalk application. The user can click on the Receive Ports tab of the application that will list all the receive ports in the application, and perform operations such as Enabling/Disabling the receive ports.

Super Users will have the privileges to perform operations on the applications and its associated artifacts. However, for normal users, they need to have permissions to be able to operate on applications/artifacts. Super users need to enable the "Can Operation On Application" check box under Permissions screen to allow normal users to be able to perform operations on applications and associated artifacts.
